What spectacular weather we had this weekend! I spent the last couple days regrouping and getting my life back to normalcy. Coordinated a wedding on Saturday morning and then spent the rest of the day reading, running, and relaxing. Yesterday was the first time I ran since the marathon. It felt good to move my legs again, but I am in no hurry to increase my mileage.
Last night Tim and I downed oysters and Guinness while reminiscing about Ireland, planning our next vacation to the green isle, sharing high school stories, and anayzing C.S. Lewis' "The Great Divorce." The conversation came easy, was fun, and I remember smiling and realizing why I had fallen in love with this man. (Note: this gushiness may be a symptom of finishing a marathon...beware)
Walked in the warm evening air to another Irish pub in hopes of hearing some tunes. Found out the music didn't start for another two hours and instead went to meet friends at the very eclectic Evening Star Cafe. I have fallen for this little cafe. It is very cozy, very inviting, and not at all pretentious.
Woke up to even warmer weather today. Got out the ole bike that I haven't been on since halfway through my marathon training. Went on a 21 mile ride through a leaf laden path by the shores of the Potomac. Watched kayaks and canoes make their way down the river.
The afternoon turned into more resting and reading, catching up, and listening to the sounds of this gorgeous autumn day.
