This week has been busy with work events every night. I have again had to wake up early to get in my workouts and have started a new workout routine post marathon...trying to concentrate more on walking, weight training, and ab workouts. Soon I will have to start training my lungs, running, and trying to get them accustomed to the outdoor air.
The winds have finally come and the cold weather is here. The chill puts me more in the mood for the holidays and for the pleasures of autumn. (Butternut squash, rich soups, and pumpkin ravioli...YUM)
At this time of year people are not necessarily passive. Congress is working overtime, family and friends are making important and life changing decisions, everyone is checking something off of a list. Yes, the world is moving. Like leaves carried by the wind we too do not have much time to land and relax. Our lives are full and our weekends are packed. For me, this is heaven. In a letter to her sister Mary Smith Cranch in 1784, Abigail Adams, said, "I begin to think, that a calm is not desirable in any situation in life....Man was made for action and for bustle too, I believe."
T and I make our way up to Montauk, New York this weekend to visit with college friends at my roomate's wedding. I am hoping to stop by Barefoot Contessa's store on our way through the Hamptons and to visit some local Long Island wineries.

It sounds like you will have a wonderful time!
When you write like this, Liz, it always makes me smile. Its kinda hard to describe the tone, but its just seems like a very soothing home-like feeling.
"squatternut buash"
Guess the quote.
Miss you Liz!
