Two days after running I am starting to feel a little better. My legs are still very sore, and my left ankle does not feel right. My stomach is still nauseous. I have been taking things slow, stretching a lot, and taking short walks.
But now that I have a chance to look back on the entire marathon experience I can say that this was one of the most insane but exciting things I have ever done. I am extremely happy with my time and with how the race went. If I had to do things differently, I would have paced myself a little better and I would have made the effort to practice with a running group. Regardless, I learned a lot through this entire experience. I had to lean on other people to get me through this. And I had to give everything to Him.
"Empty Hands held high, Such Small sacrifice, If not joined with my life, I sing in vain tonight
May the word I say, And the things I do, Make my lifesong sing, Bring a smile to you
Let my lifesong sing to You, Let my life song sing to You, I want to sign your name
to the end of this day, Knowing that my heart was true, Let my lifesong sing to You
Lord, I give my life, A Living sacrifice, To reach a world in need, To be your hands and feet
So may the words I say, And the things I do, Make my lifesong sing, Bring a smile to you
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Let my lifesong sing to You"

Congratulations, Liz! Thanks for posting all the pictures--love all the family ones. You look amazingly alert and fresh in your after pics. I can only imagine what I would look like if I ran even half that distance! Anyway, great job, I am so impressed!
