Transitioning

I am currently going through a job change. I wrapped up everything at my old job on Friday...although I still need to go in this weekend, finish up a few things and grab a box of my belongings.

So much time and energy is put into jobs, into relationships with coworkers, and into working hard. I feel like it will take some time for the old job to wear off and the new job to feel real.

The above picture is the view from my roof. The Capitol is actually a lot closer than it looks. I love this picture...it epitomizes how I felt walking to work everyday in the Senate, working for our country, working for the red, white, and blue.

It will be strange living on Capitol Hill but commuting downtown to work...I have heard that the private sector is a much different world. I am hoping it is much more conducive to having a life.

So this is my transition weekend, as I move from one job to the next. I am already starting to learn things about myself and what makes me happy, content. Soren Kierkegaard said, "Life must be understood backwards; but... it must be lived forward. " This Monday I am moving forward to a new experience, a new office, and new people. I can't wait!!!!

I think only your own utter determination is conducive to 'having a life'. All the best with that. Be strong. From the very beginning - much easier than trying to get things changed later.
