For the past couple of weeks I have been telling myself that "it" didn't hurt. After long runs, I would come home, pop a few tylenol, and get on with my day. But "it" has continued to creep up on me ever so slowly and quietly.
Lower back pain.....
After the 19 mile run this weekend the pain was uncomfortable, but bareable. My back was tense but not in extreme pain. But after my 6.5 mile run yesterday, the pain was spreading from my lower back down my right leg. I couldn't get comfortable, I couldn't sit down, I couldn't stand up, I just had to remain in a perpetual bent over position.
I am hoping it is my shoes since I am maxing out at 300 miles and need new ones VERY badly. If not, I am working to strengthen my lower back and praying that the pain does not conflict with my training.

Oh no! Thats awful, Liz! It definately sounds like you need new shoes. I hope thats all it is. I'll be praying for your health during the rest of your training!
Oh No! Maybe you should see a doctor? It sounds like it could be serious, although I truly hope it is nothing serious.
Argh! Back pain sucks. Pain going down your leg sounds very serious too! I had that when I had sciatic troubles. New shoe might be in order but check for other things too, like the shoes you wear every day and your car seat. My truck seat was broken and totally ruined my back.
Hope you get some relief soon.
Thank you all for your helpful comments!!!

This is a great blog with much good info.
My main interest is genealogy, and I have written a genealogy book which you can find along with many articles at my site. I believe it's the only genealogy book of its kind, dealing specifically with search for noble ancestors.

liz... youre crazy.
love you!
Liz,
The same thing just happened to me. Im like a 75 year old woman right now. I can hardly walk and it takes me 10 minutes to tie my shoes..... Its awful.
Liz, you have some crazy spam comments!
Wow, what an inspiration. 19 miles. Sweet. Regarding you pain... take it easy and listen to your body. Rest for a couple of days is better than suffering an injury that will take much longer to get over. All my best!
